Special Events

Stuffed Animal Pet Show and Sleepover

When: Wednesday, November 20 at 6 PM
Ages: 3 and up
Details: Show us your special stuffed animal and let them stay the night. We'll post pictures of all the fun they had! Register in the Children's Room or call 594-1800 ext 107.

American Girl Holiday Tea Party

When: Wednesday, December 11 at 6 PM
Ages: 5-12
Details: Bring your favorite doll and dress for a party! Registration begins November 18. Sign up in the Children's Room or call 594-1800 ext 107.

Minecraft for 9-12

When: Wendesday, December 11 at 3:30 PM
Ages: 9-12
Details: Play Minecraft in the Computer Lab with your friends. Sign up in the Children's Room or call 594-1800 ext 107.

Fall Programs

Read to Rover

When:Thursday, December 19 at 5 PM
Ages: 5 and up
Details: The "Read to Rover" program has shown that children who are learning to read feel more relaxed and less self-conscious when reading to animals. Reading to these specially trained dogs can enhance self-esteem by offering non-judgemental, non-threatening attention. Registration is required. Call 594-1800 ext. 107 or sign up in the Children's Room.

Pajama Story Time

When:Thursdays at 6:30 PM
Ages:Family/All ages
Details: Pajama Story Time is an evening family program. It is held on Thursday evenings @ 6:30 and no registration is required. Children are encouraged to wear their favorite pajamas and join us for stories and crafts. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit the library as a family.

Preschool Story Time

Where: Chicopee Main Library - Children's Room
Time: Every other Tuesday at 10:30 A.M.  
Ages:2.5 - 6
Details: Preschool story times are on Tuesday mornings at 10:30am. This traditional story time is designed for children ages 2.5 to 6 years of age and features entertaining picture books, finger-plays, songs, movement activities and theme-related crafts to take home. This program is an ideal experience for children prior to entering school as well as those currently in pre-school. No registration required.

Walk - In Crafts

When: Wednesdays at 3:30 PM
Ages: 5 and up
Details: Come do a seasonal craft! No registration is required.

Chess, Checkers, and other fun games

When: Tuesdays at 3:30 PM
Ages: All ages
Details: Come and play chess and checkers at the library! Registration is not required.

Lego Block Parties

When: Wednesdays or Thursdays at 3:30 PM
Ages: 6-12
Details: Make Lego creations with friends and have a snack. Please register in advance.

Little Ones Lapsit

When: Thursdays at 10:30 A.M.
Ages: 9-24 months
Details:Pre-registration is required for this 4 week session. Come join the Children's Department Staff and discover the fun that happens when you read and play with your baby. Registration week is January 27-31.

Terrific Twos

Where: Chicopee Main Library - Children's Room
When: Wednesdays at 10:30 A.M.
Ages: 24-36 months Details:Terrific Twos is a four-week program with registration required. This playtime/ storytime program will focus on the 2 years old child's special energy and sense of wonder. Children must be between 24-36 months. Registration week is January 27 - 31.
