This scrapbook was made by Genevieve (Noga) Polak. Genevieve (Noga) Polak was born on April 15th, 1923, and was a resident of Chicopee Massachussettes, and a member of the Debbie A. A. Athletics club for Polish-American girls. She created a scrapbook of newspaper clippings from 1940, with varying topics of local military news, public local engagements, and newlyweds in their wedding gowns. Genevieve (Noga) Polak herself is seen in her wedding gown, being announced to marry her first husband.

This collection she gathered helps readers visualize the local headlines and how local organizations and schools were displayed in the newspapers. She also included newspaper clippings of local Chicopee sports teams playing and their results, with dances and local enterrainers also having coverage.

This Scrapbook also highlights many military locals enlisting before America's involvement in World War ll. Many pages are dedicated to Chicopee locals being announced to join the military, a Camp Edwards Chicopee Day celebration, and many families who were serving in the military together. There is also an article detailing Polish refugees receiving help from Chicopee locals after Nazi Germany's invasion of Poland, and the Chicopee Polish community offered much help to them.
