The building was originally the "Science School," and changed to an elementary school in the 1960s/70s. From the MA Historical Commission: "In 1925 a Science building devoted exclusively to domestic, commercial and physical sciences was erected. It is beaux art in style, rich with cast-stone ornamentation. The frontpiece is pedimented with paladian window and open pedimented entrance with classical ornamentation. Today [1978] 3 grammar grades are taught in the building; the Sisters provide an education for grades 1-8 on the site."]]></dcterms:description>
