<dcterms:description><![CDATA[Black and white photograph of a brick building with several ornamental features. As described by the MA Historical Commission: "A girls school and convent were constructed in 1866-1868, located to the west of the Church. The school was the first parochial school in the Springfield diocese. Four Sisters of Notre Dame were given charge of 200 young girls. The school is 2 ½ stories with slate roof and decorative 3 story Italianate tower. The school entrance is framed by a pedimented portico trimmed with dentils. Attached to the school’s west facade is the convent. It is 2 ½ stories, brick with a mansard roof and center front-piece, also Second Empire in style. Again, wood detailing ornaments the facade, a wooden cupola tops the front piece and a dentil trimmed portico frames the entrance. The convent was enlarged in 1899, a chapel was added to its rear at that time.”]]></dcterms:description>
