A black and white image of the entire side of the USS Witter after the plane strike. There are several crewmen aboard the ship, and just above the water-line in the approximate middle of the ship, the hole left by the attacking plane is just visible. The photograph has several smudges along the left side. The back is stamped "Official photograph, not to be released for publication," and has the handwritten note "USS Witter Kamikazed at Okinawa April 1945" in pencil.
