    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[A letter written to Mrs. Ogrodnik from Paul Kleinman (1926-2007) a shipmate of Francis&#039;s who had been transferred home. The letter is dated April 16, 1945, and reassures Mrs. Ogrodnik that Francis &quot;is in the best of health and spirits, and is looking forward to the day he can be with you again.&quot; Kleinman had left the ship before the plane attack, and had not yet been told that Francis Ogrodnik had been killed. The letter arrived to the Ogrodnik family after they had been notified of Francis&#039;s death, causing significant confusion. The letter is accompanied by a wallet-sized snapshot of a young man in sailor whites smiling at the camera, signed on the reverse by Kleinman. The snapshot has very faint writing under the signature that seems to read &quot;1952,&quot; so the photo may have been provided later and placed with the letter by the family.]]></dcterms:description>
