Proceeded to Newbern, N.C. to join the regiment, and was assigned to Company “L”. __ Rank Private with no subsequent changes.__ Participated in all the operations of his Reg. up to 16th May, 1864, when in the action of Drewy’s Bluff he was captured. Sent to Richmond he remained there for a few days when he was transferred to Indisponible, GA , where he died, of disease, on or about August 24, 1864, by inhuman treatment induced.
