World War, 1939-1945--Awards; Sailors--Chicopee (Mass.)

The top has a seal of an American flag on the left, a flag of the St. Stanislaus Basilica Fransiscan Friars on the right, with a seal depicting Christ behind a group of five servicemembers, men and women, including a nurse in the center. A translation of the Polish text reads: "For our freedom and yours Edmund Ukleja, from the parish of St. Stanislaus Basilica and M., in Chicopee, Mass. serves in the armed forces of the United States. In memory, 6.1.1944. Order of the Franscicans. May the future order that will prevail in the world be based not on violence and force, but on the principles of Christ's teaching, on justice and on the harmonious cooperation of a great family of free nations!"
