He entered service January 4, 1944, and received 17 weeks basic training in heavy weapons at Camp Blanding, Fla. He spent a 10-day furlough at home before going overseas. He was graduated from Chicopee Trade school and was employed as a toolmaker at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft plant at East Hartford. In a letter home recently he spoke of meeting Lieut-Col Andrew Nowak, brother of Atty Jo-seph Nowack of this city.&quot;]]></dcterms:description>
