The title of the article is "Leader of Home-Coming Parade." Below that is the text of the article in two columns, "Under clear skies, a second force of Third Fleet ships came back from the war yesterday, steaming through the Golden Gate to the accompaniment of tugboat whistles, roaring planes and cheers of welcome from crowds on the Gate bridge. The naval parade was led by the aircraft carrier Bon Homme Richard (below), with her air-craft lined up aft, wings folded. On her flight deck, her crew stood smartly in formation. Behind her came the flattop Yorktown, the light cruiser Oakland and the destroyer Buchanan. Together they brought 3728 discharge-bound fighting men besides their liberty-hungry crews.
