A brief typed letter from Paul Silance [he did not sign a last name, but the return address matches his other letters] to Joe [Joseph Ogrodnik Jr] with a card forwarded from Paul H. Kleinman. The note explains that Kleinman had sent Silance six copies of the enclosed card to then forward to relatives of the men killed on the Witter, and provides Kleinman's address in case Ogrodnik wants to correspond directly. Silance notes that Kleinman was a member of "the black gang," indicating that he worked in the fireroom or engine rooms, like Francis Ogrodnik. The enclosed card is a copy of a small newspaper in memorium announcement with the names of the men killed, attached to a card reading "Your announcement as it appeared in the Los Angeles Times, April 6, 1990."
