Letter from Paul Kleinman, May 28, 1990

A handwritten letter on lined paper from Paul H. Kleinman to Joseph Ogrodnik Jr, dated May 28, 1990. Kleinman is replying to a letter from Ogrodnik, and briefly discusses the memorial notice he had printed in the Los Angeles Times. He goes on to say that when he wrote to Ogrodnik's parents in 1945, he had not yet heard that the Witter had been hit, and only found out from a WAVE while he was en route from the Receiving Barracks in New York to his new assignment. Kleinman says that he wanted to write to them again, but he had lost the addresses. He then apologizes for not having any photos of Francis, due to wartime security regulations prohibiting cameras on board. He mentions an enclosed snapshot of himself taken during training in 1943, but there is no photo. [It is possible that the photo included with Ogrodnik-055, the letter that Kleinman had written to the Ogrodniks in 1945, is actually the photo referenced here.] Included with this letter is Kleinman's business card.
