A black and white photograph of the progress of repairs on the USS Witter. Outer labels read (counterclockwise from lower right): "U.S.S. Witter (DE 636), Fwd. end of fireroom, stbd. side, looking aft. from FR.57, P.N.Y. no. 1621-45, photo. no. 23; F.O. Booster + transfer pump; steam drum; forced draft blower; temp. structure installed by AG 70 off Okinawa." Middle labels read, top to bottom: "Superheater tubes; generating tubes; burner registers; refractory; FR.59." The reverse of the photograph has a small "9" in the upper left corner. The photo paper used has "this paper manufactured by Kodak," indicating that this is a 1980s-1990s print of a photo from 1945.
