A black and white photograph of some of the internal repairs being done to the USS Witter following the plane attack. The label in the lower left corner reads: "U.S.S. Witter (DE 636), view of stbd. shell frs. 47-50, showing extent of damage, taken 18 Aug. 1945, P.N.Y. no. 1621-45, photo. no. 21." There is a label in the upper left reading "New stanchion + shell installed by repair ship." The reverse of the photo has a small "7" in the upper left corner. The photo paper used has "this paper manufactured by Kodak," indicating that this is a 1980s-1990s print of a photo taken in 1945.
