A black and white photograph of the damage done to the Witter during the plane attack. There are two uniformed men standing amid the damage. Counter-clockwise from the lower right corner, the labels read: "U.S.S. Witter (DE 636), stbd., looking to port + slightly fwd., docked in AG70 off Okina [sic], taken June 1945, P.N.Y. no. 1621-45, photo. no. 6; 2nd plat. blown up; 1st plat. blown up;main dk.; crew's qtra. A-206AL; stbd. shell; stbd. long'l bhd., fr. 53-59, blown inbd.; keel." The reverse of the photo has a small "2" in the upper right corner. The photo paper used has "this paper manufactured by Kodak," indicating that this is a 1980s-1990s print of a photo taken in 1945.
