Description
The image shows a tall white monument with a darker statue of men in military uniforms and holding guns at the bottom of the sculpture above a plaque. There appears to be one soldier standing over his fallen comrade with soldiers sitting or slain off to the sides. A winged figure appearsat the top of the monument, holding what appears to be a wreath in its right hand and what appears to be a stalk of some plant (hay or wheat?) in its left hand. The background of the image is trees and the sky. On the bottom margin of the image, in pen, is "War Memorial Last War." Written in pencil, in cursive, on the center back of the photo is "war memorial last war." This monument is called "Victory Through Sacrifice" and was erected to honor Trinidadians who fought in World War I.
