storage areas for items matching the description of the lost item. - Patrons are encouraged to check back periodically in case the item has been
found and staff cannot determine the owner or contact them.
Found Items: - Items found in the library and collected by the staff will be dated and stored in the
designated Lost and Found bin for up to 14 days, with the following exceptions:
o Dirty, wet, unidentifiable, or perishable items (like food, beverages, or
personal care items) will be disposed of immediately. - If the owner can be identified, a reasonable attempt will be made to contact them
so they can reclaim their lost item. - Personal items such as wallets, ID cards, keys, bags, laptops, jewelry, or cell
phones may be stored in a secure location.
Unclaimed Items:
Items not claimed within 14 days will be discarded, donated, or recycled at the
discretion of the Library Director or designee. Documents with identifiable information
